An incident occurred at a Kentucky Fried Chicken outlet in Savannah, Georgia.
A KFC employee, Sherman Hendrix, 23, allegedly shot a woman in the parking lot. The event transpired during lunchtime, approximately at 12:30 pm.
The female victim, whose name has not been released, suffered severe injuries due to the gunshot. Emergency services were quick to provide aid and she was taken to a local medical facility. Her current health status remains unknown.
Savannah Police Chief Lenny Gunther, during a briefing, pointed out that this wasn’t a spontaneous act. There may be some relationship or prior connection between Hendrix and the injured woman, although details are yet to emerge.
Post the event, Hendrix was taken into custody and is facing charges of aggravated assault. He is detained at the Chatham County Jail without bond.
