Man Annoyed Over Laser Pointer Play Murders Pregnant Woman

A 25-year-old man has been indicted for allegedly killing a 26-year-old pregnant woman.

On July 6, 26-year-old Isis Roseman and her younger brother were playing with laser pointers in their front yard in Hamilton County, Ohio. During this time, 25-year-old Tyrone Hunter approached them and started arguing about the laser pointers. Allegedly, Hunter threatened to shoot up Roseman’s home before leaving in his vehicle.

Later on, Hunter returned and opened fire on Roseman’s house. Roseman and her family sought safety inside, but Hunter fired again, hitting Roseman at least once leading to her death on the spot.

The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office later determined that Roseman was 16 to 17 weeks pregnant at the time of her death, making her unborn baby a victim as well.

After a grand jury indictment, Hunter faces several charges including two counts of assault and murder, discharging a firearm into a residence, among others. It was revealed that Hunter had been out on bond from previous charges, including felonious assault, improper discharge of a firearm, and drug trafficking when he committed the shooting.

Hamilton County Prosecutor Melissa Powers expressed frustration over the system allowing a dangerous criminal like Hunter to be out on such a low bond.

“Criminals must be kept off the streets and remain accountable for their crimes,” she said in a statement. “This guy took two lives by killing a pregnant victim while out on a $10,000 bond.”

On July 24, Hunter turned himself in after a warrant of arrest was issued against him. He is now being held in jail on a $1 million bond.

During his arraignment, Hunter’s attorney, Clyde Bennett, asserted his client’s innocence, placing the burden of explanation and proof on the state of Ohio.
