A 21-year-old man from Sanford, Florida, was arrested on Tuesday, August 29, in connection with the murder of his pregnant girlfriend.

The case dates back nearly ten months when Kaylin Fiengo, 18, was discovered in her vehicle with a fatal gunshot wound at Coastline Park in Sanford.

On the evening of November 11, Fiengo reportedly drove to meet Donovan Faison, 21, at the park.

Later that night, a Sanford police officer found her lifeless body in the driver’s seat of her still-running car. Initial investigations revealed frequent disagreements between the couple over Fiengo’s pregnancy.

While Faison allegedly wanted her to end the pregnancy, she chose to keep the unborn child.

This disagreement is believed to be the motive behind Fiengo’s death. However, it remains unconfirmed if Faison was the unborn child’s father.

Faison now faces two counts of felony homicide. Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith commended the investigators, stating, “Every possible shred of evidence was processed and analyzed in order to bring Kaylin’s killer to justice.”

Fiengo is survived by a one-year-old son, Ace. In her obituary, she was described as a “fun-loving child” with “an old soul.” Chief Smith expressed hope that the arrest provides some solace to Fiengo’s family and emphasized the pursuit of justice.
