School Bus and Minivan Crash in Ohio: One Child Dead

A tragic accident occurred in German Township, Ohio, involving a school bus and a minivan, leading to the death of one student and injuries to 25 others. 

The collision took place on the first day of school, Tuesday, August 22, at 8:15 am on State Route 41 close to Lawrenceville Road. A bus from Northwestern Local School District, traveling westbound, was struck by a 2010 Honda Odyssey minivan from the opposite lane. This impact caused the bus to veer off its course and overturn, resulting in the tragic death of a student. 

The bus driver, Alfred E. Collier, 68, sustained minor injuries. He was the only one on the bus with a seatbelt, and was wearing it. Out of the 53 onboard, 22 required immediate medical attention and were transported to local hospitals, displaying non-life-threatening injuries. One individual was rushed to Children’s Hospital in critical condition. Meanwhile, the minivan’s two occupants, aged 35 and 37, are recuperating from moderate injuries.

Authorities have initiated a thorough investigation.
