Vacationing Dad Dies in Jet Ski Accident

A family vacation at Lake Tahoe in California turned into a somber event as a beloved football coach and father of four died in a jet ski accident on Saturday, July 29.

Bill Siu and his wife were enjoying their first visit to the lake with their four children, Kanoah, Melana, Ziggy, and Rico.

During the excursion, challenging weather conditions, including strong winds and waves, resulted in both Siu and his wife being ejected from their jet ski. The two were separated, and Siu’s wife, Alexie, was unable to reach him, but saw that he was panicking. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office intervened and transported Siu to a nearby hospital in Sand Harbor, where he was declared deceased. The incident is currently being investigated as an accidental drowning.

Beyond his immediate family, Siu was known in the community as a respected football coach. He had recently led the Clayton Valley Eagles to a championship win in 2022. Additionally, Siu was a fitness coach at the P2P Transformation Center in Concord.

To support the Siu family, a GoFundMe page has been established. As of August 3, contributions have surpassed $72,500.
