A 41-year-old woman from Plainfield, Illinois remains in federal custody after her appearance in court on Monday, August 21.
Federal agents revealed that she confessed to making threats to kill former President Donald Trump and his son, Barron.
Appearing before Judge Jeffrey Cummings at the Dirksen Federal Building, Tracy Marie Fiorenza confirmed her identity and heard the charges against her. She stands accused of threatening to shoot both Trumps.
According to a federal complaint filed in the Southern District of Florida, investigators said that Fiorenza admitted to sending threatening emails to a school headmaster in Palm Beach County.
One of the emails, sent on May 21, read, in part, “I will shoot Donald Trump and his son Barron in the face given a chance.”
Another email on June 5 allegedly said, “I am going to slam a bullet in Barron Trump’s head with his father IN SELF DEFENSE!”
Federal prosecutors have charged Fiorenza with knowingly and willfully making threats to kill or injure someone via commercial email over the internet.
The purpose of Monday’s court appearance was to begin the process of transferring Fiorenza to Florida, where she will face federal prosecutors for her actions.
Fiorenza, who previously worked for Chicago Public Schools from September 2019 until her firing in August 2020, is scheduled for a detention hearing on Wednesday, Aug 23.
