2 Dead in Los Angeles Crash

A crash in Westwood, a neighborhood in Los Angeles, California, left two people dead and three others seriously injured on Saturday, September 2.

The incident occurred on the 1500 block of S. Sepulveda Boulevard around 6 pm.

When Los Angeles police arrived, they found two damaged sedans with five victims involved.

Photos taken by passersby show a white BMW and a red Honda Civic with significant damage.

One person from each car was trapped inside and had to be freed by emergency responders.

The two people rescued from the BMW were transported to a trauma center in critical condition and did not survive. Another injured person from the Civic was also hospitalized and is in serious condition. Two people who tried to help the trapped victims before professionals arrived sustained minor injuries as well. However, they opted not to seek medical attention.

The impact of the collision pushed the Civic off the road and onto the grass, while the BMW appeared to have spun around. Debris from the wreckage was scattered across the street.

Police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
