On the morning of Saturday, September 2, both Massachusetts State Police and the FBI were at Boston Logan International Airport in response to an incident described as a “potential criminal act” that took place on American Flight 1441 en route from Charlotte, North Carolina to Boston, Massachusetts.

The event onboard was initially reported by American Airlines. When the plane touched down at the airport, it was greeted by state police patrols and detectives who immediately began examining the situation.

While preliminary information confirms that the incident took place during the flight, the specifics are yet to be disclosed by the authorities. The incident had something to do with a ‘juvenile, a flight attendant, and a cell phone,” according to WSOC-TV in Charlotte.

The incident, having occurred in mid-air, is considered a federal matter. This has led to the federal authorities taking charge of the investigation, as mentioned by the Massachusetts State Police.

Although the FBI confirmed that they are part of the ongoing investigation, they chose not to disclose further information at this time. American Airlines, upon being contacted for more insights, did not immediately comment. However, later, an airline spokesperson conveyed to Boston 25 that “We are fully cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation, as safety and security are our highest priority.”
