Former NFL Player’s Son and College Roommate Dead in Car Crash

Former NFL player Hugh Douglas is grieving the loss of his son and his college roommate following a car crash in Georgia. 

The two 20-year-old students were pronounced dead after their vehicle collided head-on with a utility pole and flipped over in East Point, southwest of Atlanta.

According to reports, the accident occurred when their vehicle attempted to overtake another car at a high speed, resulting in Christion Files Jr. losing control and veering off the road, striking two utility poles. 

The incident happened around 5 pm on Monday, September 4.

Hugh Douglas Sr. shared his grief on social media, posting heartfelt tributes and throwback photos of his beloved son, Hugh Douglas Jr. 

Both young men were dedicated students at Morehouse College, majoring in business administration with a focus on finance for Hugh Douglas Jr. and marketing for Files Jr.

The college praised Hugh Douglas Jr. for his dedication and promise, highlighting his involvement in various associations and fellowships related to business and finance.

Christion Files Jr. was a co-captain of the school’s track and field team, media chair for the junior class council, and an active member of the Morehouse Business Association.

Hugh Douglas Sr., known for his NFL career, currently hosts a radio show in Philadelphia. His colleagues and the station expressed condolences for his devastating loss.
