Oklahoma Sheriff’s Deputy Arrested for Wife’s Shooting Death

An Oklahoma City sheriff’s deputy was taken into custody on Wednesday, August 30, accused of the fatal shooting of his spouse.

Jordan Cannon, 40, also a deputy sheriff, was discovered dead from a suspected gunshot wound. The Oklahoma City Police Department, in their official statement, confirmed the death.

Upon responding to the incident, police identified 41-year-old Deputy Sheriff Vaughn Cannon at the scene. Early reports from the investigation indicate a heated altercation between the couple, which may have escalated to the shooting.

Both individuals, Vaughn and Jordan Cannon, worked as deputies in Cleveland County.

In a statement, Sheriff Chris Amason of Cleveland County expressed his condolences and spoke about Jordan Cannon’s commendable service. He highlighted her unwavering commitment and upbeat nature. In response to the tragedy, the sheriff’s office is offering support services, including counseling, to its employees and the wider community.
