Sarah Ferguson Reveals Queen Elizabeth’s Final Advice to Her

Sarah Ferguson, once a prominent figure in the British royal family and ex-wife of Prince Andrew, King Charles’ brother, shared the last advice she received from Queen Elizabeth II prior to the Queen’s passing. The revered monarch, who ruled for 70 years, passed away on September 8, 2022, in Balmoral, Scotland, at the age of 96.

The Queen’s simple yet poignant message to Ferguson was, “Just be yourself, Sarah.” This disclosure was made during the August 30 episode of “Tea Talks with the Duchess & Sarah,” a podcast hosted by Ferguson.

Reflecting on her recent battle with breast cancer, the Duchess of York, now aged 63, emphasized how this challenging period in her life has instilled a greater sense of authenticity in her. “She just got annoyed when I wasn’t being myself,” confessed Ferguson, “But now I am myself, and I’m so fortunate to be able to be myself.”

It remains unclear when exactly the Queen conveyed this message. Nonetheless, reports suggest that the monarch was in good health and spirits in the days leading up to her demise.

The relationship between Sarah Ferguson and the royal family has experienced its highs and lows. Married to Prince Andrew from 1986 to 1996, the couple has two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. After their separation, Ferguson’s rapport with the royal family witnessed some turbulence, yet it appeared to have mended in recent times. Despite this, she was conspicuously absent from significant events, including King Charles’ coronation.

Earlier this year, Ferguson confronted another personal challenge. Diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer in June, she underwent a mastectomy. Her representatives have confirmed that she is receiving top-notch medical care and she remains optimistic about her recovery.
