Earlier deemed kidnapped, a 17-year-old girl from Texas has been found and is now facing murder accusations. Her involvement in the case also ties to a 21-year-old male, Yordy Martinez, who is currently on the run.

The Garland Police Department has connected both individuals to the death of 21-year-old Arturo Pena due to a gunshot in a suspected robbery attempt.

On September 1, early Friday, Natalie Navarro’s disappearance from an east Dallas apartment prompted the Dallas Police Department to issue an AMBER Alert. While the alert was ongoing, she was already suspected in connection with Pena’s death. Navarro was found in Webb County within the span of an hour, as per reports.

Currently held by authorities, Navarro will undergo trial as an adult.  Martinez, initially considered Navarro’s abductor, remains at large and is also suspected in the killing of Pena.

Martinez, possibly operating a gray four-door car, is viewed as both armed and dangerous. A defining trait is his absent front tooth. His criminal record includes a past felony charge for a gun discharge within a home.

The victim, Pena, a Mesquite, Texas inhabitant, was located with a gunshot wound at Audubon Park on August 29. This was just two days after his family declared him missing to the local police. The exact interrelations between Navarro, Martinez, and Pena are still under scrutiny.

To assist in family expenses, a GoFundMe campaign has been initiated by Pena’s girlfriend, Veronica Lopez.
