On Thursday, August 31, in Cohasset, Massachusetts, a grave incident occurred when a two-year-old boy became trapped under construction equipment at Hajj Auto Service, resulting in his untimely death. The incident took place at approximately 12:40 pm, as shared by Cohasset’s Chief of Police, William Quigley.
In a swift response, the boy’s grandfather, who is the proprietor of Hajj Auto Service, rushed him to the nearest police facility. The child was subsequently moved to South Shore Hospital. However, upon their arrival, medical professionals pronounced the child dead.
During a media briefing, Chief Quigley highlighted that there is no evidence suggesting malicious intent behind the accident. He also commented on the distressing impact of the event on witnesses. An employee present during the incident sought medical attention due to the shock. Chief Quigley also noted that the emotional repercussions extended to the Cohasset Police Department, with one of their officers needing time off.
Presently, the details and circumstances of this unfortunate event are under review. Both the state police and the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office are collaborating on the ongoing probe.
