In a harrowing incident on Friday, September 1, in North Port, Florida, Dima Tower, a 21-year-old man adopted from Ukraine, is facing serious charges following the alleged murder of his adoptive parents, Robbie and Jennifer Tower.
The Towers, who were known in their community as real estate agents, had taken Dima into their home seven years ago when he was 14, in hopes of providing him with a better life.
The police were alerted to the scene after receiving calls from a neighbor about a domestic disturbance late on Friday. Upon arrival, officers discovered the couple lying close together on their living room floor amidst signs of a violent struggle.
