A shocking event unfolded on the night of September 25, 2023, when a 66-year-old flight attendant was found dead in her room with a sock in her mouth at the Philadelphia Airport Marriott. The woman, an employee of American Airlines, was identified by police as Diana Ramos.
The hotel, which is closely situated to the Philadelphia International Airport, is widely used for American Airlines flight crews.
Ramos was scheduled to vacate her room two days prior to her body being discovered causing further puzzlement surrounding the delay in uncovering her remains.
In the wake of the mysterious circumstances, the initial police investigations highlighted several key points. There were no signs of a forced entry or struggle in the room, raising more questions about the nature of her death. Further casting suspicion, the room also contained several bottles of prescription medication.
Given the uncertainty surrounding the situation, authorities have deemed Ramos’ death as “suspicious.” An autopsy has been ordered to establish the exact cause of her death, the results of which will considerably affect the direction of the investigation.
Responsibility for the investigation has been given to the Homicide Detectives Division, which is conducting a meticulous examination of every detail including the sock found in Ramos’ mouth and the implications of the prescription drugs found in her room.
