London authorities have been searching for answers for two years after a man’s remains were found in a basement freezer.

Roy Bigg, missing since 2012, was the identified individual. Construction workers unearthed this discovery in a building that was once a wine bar on October 15, 2021. Dental examinations were essential in confirming that Bigg was the deceased, suggesting he was about 70 years old at his time of death.

Despite rigorous probes and various public appeals via media, the person responsible for ending Bigg’s life remains unknown. Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Allen conveyed that while a lot is known about Bigg’s history, the public’s contribution is essential to identify the culprit.

A considerable challenge is the absence of any concrete information regarding Bigg between 2012 and 2021. This void leaves nearly ten years of his life uncharted. Assessing the length of his absence and the condition of his discovery indicates that he might have been inside the freezer for a long time. The specific cause of his death, however, remains undetermined after medical evaluations.

Authorities are keen on the unused wine bar in Forest Gate, east London, where Bigg was discovered. By reconstructing Bigg’s movements and consulting people who knew his routines, they aim to discern his last living moments. The Metropolitan Police, in their effort to uncover the truth, have proclaimed a reward of £20,000. This reward awaits anyone providing valuable information leading to the detention and legal processing of the individual(s) involved in Bigg’s death.

Those in possession of any relevant details, regardless of significance, are encouraged to aid the ongoing investigation.
