Six Flags Horror: Employee Loses Life in Van Accident

An incident occurred at Six Flags Over Georgia on Sunday evening, October 1, 2023 resulting in the death of a park employee

Andrea Crook, a 43-year-old woman from Villa Rica, Georgia, died after being ejected from the back of a moving van on the park’s premises.

According to Cobb County Police, Crook was among several adult passengers and two juveniles, all park employees, who were riding in the rear cargo area of a 2004 Ford Econoline van driven by a 27-year-old employee identified as Asia Hendricks. The incident took place as the van negotiated a left turn uphill on an internal road within the theme park.

Park and local emergency services rushed Crook to Grandy Memorial Hospital where she died due to the severe head injury she sustained from hitting the pavement.

The van involved in the accident did not have seats in the cargo area, where Crook and others were seated. The van was transporting employees for the annual Fright Fest event, a popular Halloween attraction at the park.

The park management has cooperated fully with the ongoing police investigation. No charges have been filed against the driver of the van, but authorities are examining the circumstances of the accident to determine if any legal consequences are warranted as the investigation continues.
