On Monday, October 2, 2023, a multi-vehicle collision occurred on State Road 195 in South Sardinia, Italy. The accident, involving two supercars and a camper van, led to the unfortunate deaths of two individuals.

The incident was recorded by another driver on the road, whose footage revealed the Lamborghini and Ferrari overtaking his vehicle. Shortly after, the video documented the two cars passing a white camper van. Events escalated when the red Ferrari, increasing its pace, approached the blue Lamborghini during a simultaneous overtaking attempt of the camper.

This maneuver resulted in a direct collision, sending the Lamborghini into the rear of the camper. The force was such that the camper’s rear lifted, momentarily balancing on its front wheel, before toppling to its side.

Following this, the Ferrari also suffered a rollover and subsequently burst into flames.

The Ferrari was occupied by Melissa, 63, and Markus Krautli, 67, both from Switzerland. Their lives were tragically cut short by the accident.

The camper was driven by Lorenzo Mascarin, 62, and accompanied by his wife. The couple sustained minor injuries. In his statement, Lorenzo described the unexpected sequence of events, from their camper’s sudden overturn to the sight of the aflame Ferrari.

The Lamborghini’s occupants, Bollywood actress Gayatri Joshi and billionaire Vikas Oberoi, exited the scene without harm. In light of the tragedy, Italian legal authorities have initiated a ‘double road homicide’ investigation. If implicated and convicted, Oberoi might face seven years in prison. The cars were participants in the Sardinia Supercar Tour, an island exploration activity. As the inquiry continues, the exact cause and circumstances surrounding the crash remain undetermined.
