On November 19, 2023, Brooke Gomez, a celebrated interior designer in New York City, New York, and collaborator with stars such as Bethenny Frankel, Michael J. Fox, and Sigourney Weaver, was discovered dead in her Upper East Side apartment in Manhattan, New York.

Gomez, aged 49, came to the attention of authorities after a week without contact. The New York City Police Department, responding to a distress call at 8:01 pm, found Gomez unresponsive and she was pronounced dead at the site.

The Medical Examiner’s Office attributed Gomez’s demise to chronic alcohol use. Officials have indicated that there are no signs of suspicious circumstances or criminal activity related to her death.

Beginning her career in 2001 at her mother’s firm, Gomez Associates, Gomez’s influence in the interior design field spanned more than two decades. She later launched Brooke Gomez Design in 2019, quickly becoming renowned for her distinct style and notable clients. Her work was also featured in reality TV, including her collaboration with Frankel.

Following Gomez’s passing, it was discovered that her dog, a Brussels Griffon named Edie, had been left to survive on its own for a week in the apartment. The dog was found in good condition and has since been adopted by the building superintendent’s wife.

The loss of Gomez has prompted an outpouring of tributes from the interior design community and her clients. Her company expressed their grief on Instagram, remembering her as an inspirational figure. A memorial gathering to honor Gomez’s legacy is currently being planned by her team.
