Following the dreadful mass shooting on October 25, 2023, in Lewiston, Maine, that took the lives of 18 innocent people, new information has surfaced. The perpetrator, 40-year-old Robert Card, was later found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Card’s body was located near a recycling facility in Lisbon, Maine. This facility had already undergone two searches by the local police. They overlooked a larger parking area opposite the main building, which is where Card’s body was discovered in a box trailer.
Prior to his death, Card had written a note in his residence. This note, addressed to a family member, did not explain the reason for his actions. However, it contained private information such as phone passcodes and banking details. With this note in their possession, law enforcement has started the process of accessing Card’s phone and banking information.
Robert Card had connections to the recycling center. He had worked there as a commercial driver for the Maine Recycling Corporation for roughly a year. A search of his home revealed three firearms. Notably, one of these, a long gun, was found in his white Subaru near a boat launch.
Card had previously served in the Army reserves, equipping him with military skills. He also held certification as a firearms instructor.
