In the late hours of November 15, 2023, a tragic event unfolded in Atlanta, Georgia, when a 25-year-old man was fatally wounded in a shooting incident at the Chevron gas station on 2111 Campbellton Rd SW.

The incident took place in the presence of his two young children, who were waiting for him in the car, leaving the family in a state of grief and searching for explanations.

According to the Atlanta Police Department, the incident happened around 10:31 p.m. Officers responding to the scene found the victim, Jotavious Favors, with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the prompt arrival of Grady’s emergency medical services, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Favors’ sister, choosing to remain anonymous, recounted the moments to 11 Alive News. She revealed that Favors had entered the gas station to make a purchase when he became involved in a confrontation with two people inside the store. The exchange escalated, resulting in Favors being shot.

The Atlanta Police Department, in their ongoing investigation, has released details of the shooting. Surveillance footage from the Chevron gas station showed two men walking through the store around the time of the assault. Investigators are now seeking at least two persons of interest, as seen in the footage. It is not yet clear whether Favors knew his assailants.

Evidence gathered by the Atlanta Police suggests that the shooting was the result of a dispute Favors was involved in at the gas station. Authorities believe the suspects were driving a blue Jeep Compass.
