A 24-year-old mother of three and well-respected cheerleading coach from Jasper, Texas, was found dead by law enforcement.
In the early hours of Saturday, November 18, 2023, authorities located the body of Rosalin “Ro Ro” Lewis at Myrtis Village apartments in Jasper.
Lewis, recognized for her commitment to cheerleading and her influence on Jasper’s youth, was determined to have been beaten fatally.
The Jasper Police Department, responding to the incident, arrested 23-year-old William Christian Thomas of Livingston following their investigation. Thomas, said to be Lewis’ boyfriend, faces murder charges and is detained in Jasper County Jail with a bond set at $1 million.
The crime, characterized as a severe assault using a hammer, has intensified the community’s sorrow and shock. Lewis, celebrated for her dynamic personality and dedication to coaching, is survived by her three children, Kaelum, aged five, Aria, aged three, and two-year-old Alakai.
A funeral service was held November 25 at 2 pm at Faith Temple Church on Pollard Street in Jasper, with Coleman’s Mortuary overseeing the arrangements.
While Jasper grieves, there has been a surge in community support and calls for prayers for the family affected.
