Billy Miller, Acclaimed Actor, Dies at 43 in Texas

Billy Miller, celebrated for his roles in “General Hospital” and “The Young and the Restless,” tragically died at age 43 due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The incident, occurring in his Austin, Texas home, was classified as a suicide, according to the autopsy report.

Born on September 17, 1979, Miller’s death came just before his 44th birthday, on September 15, 2023. His struggle with bipolar disorder and manic depression was well-known among his family and peers.

Miller’s impressive TV career began in 2007 with “All My Children.” His role as Billy Abbott in “The Young and the Restless” from 2008 to 2014 earned him three Daytime Emmy Awards. His tenure in “General Hospital” and appearances in “Suits,” “Ray Donovan,” and “American Sniper” further highlighted his versatility.

The autopsy report detailed Miller’s condition at the time of death, including a head gunshot wound, suicide notes, a revolver in his hand, and substances like cocaine and amphetamine in his system. 

Patricia Miller, his mother, shared insights into his mental health struggles, expressing profound grief and requesting privacy for the family during this difficult period.
