Drunk Driver Found With Corpse As Passenger

In Dallas, Texas, a 45-year-old man was struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Terry Ivory, who was hit at the intersection of I-30 and Cockrell Hill Road on the night of December 16, 2023.

The accused, 31-year-old Nestor Joel Lujan Flores of Arlington, faces a charge of collision involving death. He was booked into the Dallas County Jail on December 19.

According to police reports, Flores drove from the crash site for nearly 40 miles to White Settlement with Ivory’s body in the passenger seat, initially thinking he had hit a deer.

The discovery was made when White Settlement police discovered Ivory’s body in Flores’ car, which was located in a Jack-In-The-Box parking lot and had extensive front-end damage and a gaping hole in the windshield along with a strong smell of alcohol, following a call from a bystander who noticed Flores slumped over the steering wheel.

Police believe that the victim, Terry Ivory, after being struck, crashed through the windshield and landed in the passenger seat.

Flores has a history of alcohol-related offenses, including a DWI conviction in 2020 after an arrest by Plano police. At the time, he admitted to consuming four glasses of wine and was caught speeding on the Dallas North Tollway.

Ivory’s siblings, Nikitria Beasley, Tesha Shannon, and Aikda Ivory, expressed their profound grief and shock upon learning about the manner of their brother’s death.

They remembered him as someone who always sought to make the best of each day, despite his challenging living conditions. The victim was homeless and living under a bridge on I-30 at the time of his passing.
