Hillary Clinton Takes Political Jab At Former President

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton responded with a pointed one-word remark to former President Donald Trump’s quoting of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The former President made the comments at a 2024 presidential campaign rally on Saturday December 16, 2023, in Durham, New Hampshire.

Clinton took to “X” to post a one-word retort after Trump, at the rally, quoted Putin criticizing the American political system and indirectly blaming President Joe Biden for his multiple indictments.

Clinton shared a Washington Post report on Trump’s comments and simply captioned it: “Puppet.” This response highlights the ongoing tension between the two political figures.

Trump’s remarks at the rally included a quote from Putin, criticizing the American political system and suggesting that Trump’s multiple indictments, which Trump inaccurately blames on President Joe Biden, reflect poorly on American democracy.

Trump’s admiration for Putin has been a subject of discussion over the years, notably during his 2016 campaign against Clinton and in instances where he seemed to favor Putin’s word over U.S. intelligence agencies’ findings, especially regarding Russian interference in the 2016 election.

The rally also saw Trump, considered the clear GOP front-runner, making controversial statements about immigration, claiming that immigrants are adversely affecting the United States. This sparked significant backlash with Former Governor of New Jersey Chris Chistie suggesting that the former president’s comments make him unfit for the office.

Last month, Clinton warned voters about Trump’s language on the campaign trail, describing it as dictatorial. She expressed concerns about the consequences of a second Trump presidency, predicting significant changes in the country’s fabric. Clinton’s comments on a talk show suggested that while Trump was somewhat restrained in his first term, a potential victory in the next election could lead to more extreme behavior.
