In Bodrum, Turkey, on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, Russian model Irina Dvizova, 42, and her daughter Dayana, 15, were found dead. Their bodies were discovered on a hillside, covered in sheets, bound with rope, and bearing gunshot wounds.
The discovery followed a period of silence from the pair, leading acquaintances to grow concerned. The situation escalated when family members, checking Dvizova’s rented property, discovered bloodstains on the furniture. Additionally, a nearby resident reported hearing gunshots in the area.
Prior to the incident, Dvizova and Dayana, who were celebrating Dayana’s birthday in Istanbul, actively posted about their travels on social media. Dayana, aspiring to be a model like her mother, had been enthusiastically documenting their journey on TikTok.
The investigation has identified Andrey Kuslevich, Dvizova’s ex-husband and a Lithuanian national, as the main suspect. Kuslevich, 45, has a complicated past including escapes from Russian custody for alleged diamond theft. His stepson David, 20, has described him as volatile and suggests the murders could be tied to a custody dispute over Makar, Kuslevich and Dvizova’s five-year-old son.
Turkish officials are intensely pursuing the double homicide case, with an international search for Kuslevich ongoing. Efforts are also being made to locate Makar, believed to be with Kuslevich. The investigation is considering whether the murders were motivated by the custody battle, following Dvizova’s June court attempt in Moscow to restrict Kuslevich’s access to Makar.
As part of their efforts, authorities are examining video surveillance footage believed to show Kuslevich committing the murders at the family’s villa, before disposing of the bodies.
