A Brazilian gospel singer, aged 30, collapsed and died mid-performance on December 13, 2023, in Feira de Santana, Brazil, stunning his audience and the broader music community.
Pedro Henrique was in the midst of a live concert, streamed online from a concert hall in the northeastern city of Feira de Santana when the incident occurred.
During a religious event, Henrique fell backward while on stage, an event recorded and viewed live by spectators.
Known for his captivating stage presence, Henrique was singing his popular track ‘Vai Ser Tão Lindo’ when he suddenly collapsed. He was moving towards the stage front, interacting with fans at this moment.
Immediate aid was provided by audience members and fellow band members as he fell. He was promptly taken to a nearby clinic, where his death was confirmed. Todah Music, Henrique’s record company, confirmed his death and attributed it to a heart attack.
Henrique leaves behind his wife, Suilan Barreto, a well-known gospel influencer, and his daughter, Zoe, who was born on October 19. As of Thursday, Barreto had not issued any public statements about the event.
Henrique’s musical journey started early in life. He began his professional career in 2015 by posting songs on his YouTube channel and initially collaborated with a local band, producing the album ‘Grande é o Senhor.’
His wake and funeral are scheduled to take place in his hometown of Porto Seguro, Bahia. Following his passing, Henrique’s latest single “Medley: Levanta / Não Fica Assim / Descendência (Ao Vivo)” was released.
