3 Dead in 2 Texas Highway Accidents

During the period of January 13-14, 2024, the Dallas, Texas area saw two significant road occurrences leading to three deaths and three injuries.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has disclosed that both incidents featured drivers hit by other cars after leaving their vehicles due to preceding accidents.

The initial incident occurred on the Dallas North Tollway in the vicinity of Forest Lane at around 2:06 a.m. on January 13.

A collision involved a 2017 Infinity QX50, steered by Kendrella Baldwin, 24, from Dallas, and a 2013 Honda Civic, operated by Nathan Hattox, 28, from Addison.

After the first collision, both Baldwin and Hattox left their vehicles and were on the roadway when they were hit by a third car, a 2022 BMW 330 driven by 18-year-old Connor Marek Ehinger from Lewisville. The Methodist Dallas Medical Center pronounced Baldwin and Hattox deceased. Ehinger was uninjured.

The second event took place on the President George Bush Turnpike near Belt Line Road around 1:13 a.m. on January 14.

A single-car accident resulted in a 2004 Honda Accord, driven by 19-year-old Jasmine Lewis from Arlington, Texas, being incapacitated in the southbound lanes. After vacating her car, Lewis was struck by a 2014 BMW X3. She was declared dead at the scene.

Occupants of the BMW, Kiara Frazier, 28, from Grand Prairie, and Devvyn Eddington, 33, from Longview, along with King Martin, an 18-year-old passenger in Lewis’ car, also from Grand Prairie, sustained light injuries.

Initial investigations suggest that in both cases, the victims were outside of their cars when hit by the third vehicle. As of now, the investigations are ongoing and no further details have been released.
