Jennifer Garner in Talks to Star In Film Directed by Ex-Ben Affleck

The media is buzzing with news that Jennifer Garner is in negotiations to star in an upcoming Netflix crime thriller, marking a professional collaboration that intertwines with her personal history.

The film, “Animals,” is drawing attention not only for its gripping plot but also for the potential reunion it could signify in the film industry. The director’s seat may be filled by none other than Garner’s ex-husband, Ben Affleck.

The screenplay, written by Connor McIntyre and Billy Ray, delves into the high-risk world of a politician and his spouse who are plunged into the depths of crime to rescue their kidnapped son.

Matt Damon, a long-term collaborator and friend of Affleck, is expected to play the lead role of the embattled politician. Garner is in negotiations to portray his wife, which could add an interesting dimension to the storyline, considering the actors’ shared past.

Affleck and Garner’s personal history is well-documented, having been married for 13 years, from 2005 to 2018, and having three children together: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 11.

Despite having co-starred in previous films such as “Pearl Harbor” and “Daredevil,” this would mark the first time Affleck would direct Garner. This speaks to their professional respect and their ability to maintain an amicable co-parenting relationship after their divorce.

On a related note, Jennifer Lopez, who is currently married to Affleck, recently set boundaries regarding her husband during a talk show appearance. She made it clear that anyone contemplating flirting with Affleck should “step all the way off.”

Affleck’s professional and romantic relationship with Lopez has also gained considerable attention. The couple, often referred to as “Bennifer,” reignited their romance in 2021, nearly two decades after their initial engagement in 2002. They surprised many by tying the knot again in a ceremony in July 2022, sparking a whirlwind romance that has captivated public interest.

Following the positive reception to the “Animals” trailer, Lopez expressed her confidence in her husband’s abilities, stating, “I know everything he does turns out great because he is a brilliant writer and director.”

The film is currently slated to begin production in March, with Affleck and Damon handling production duties through their company, Artists Equity. Garner’s potential involvement adds an extra layer of intrigue to the project.
