A horrifying incident occurred in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, where 37-year-old Alonzo Pierre Mingo has been charged with second-degree murder following a lethal home invasion.

Posing as a UPS delivery person, Mingo orchestrated a planned assault that ended in the tragic death of a family of three.

The victims, identified as Shannon Patricia Jungwirth, 42, her son Jorge Alexander Reyes-Jungwirth, 20, and her husband Mario Alberto Trejo Estrada, 39, were found dead in their suburban Minneapolis home.

On Friday, January 26, 2024, Mingo, with two other individuals, one also dressed in a UPS uniform, approached the victims’ home.

Security footage documented the grim events, displaying Mingo wielding a firearm and demanding money from the occupants.

The chilling footage also captured the terrifying moment when Mingo shot Shannon Jungwirth at close range, an act witnessed by two young children under five, who remarkably survived the incident.

Mingo, a former seasonal employee of UPS until mid-January, used his familiarity with and access to UPS uniforms to carry out the invasion.

Several hours after the crime, Mingo was apprehended by authorities while still driving the vehicle believed to be used in the invasion.

At the time of his arrest, police found UPS clothing and a cardboard box in his vehicle, presumably used to support his disguise. Mingo’s fingerprints were found on the box, contradicting his claims of innocence and alibi of being at home the entire day.

Mingo’s criminal past includes a prior guilty plea to a federal firearms charge, aggravated battery, and subsequent supervised release.

As the police work to determine the motive behind the murders, investigations suggest potential connections to illicit activities. There are allegations of Estrada’s involvement in drug trafficking, possibly suggesting a motive for the crime. A search warrant executed on Estrada’s storage unit uncovered drugs and indications of financial transactions related to illegal drug sales.

The prosecution plans to argue for a sentence above the guidelines for Mingo, citing the brutal nature of the murders and their devastating impact on the surviving children.

Mingo is currently being held without bail pending further legal proceedings. It remains unclear if the two alleged accomplices involved in the crime have been charged.
