On Thursday, March 7, a 39-year-old man from Audubon, New Jersey died in a freak accident when an object smashed on the windshield of the car he was riding in, leading to his death. The New Jersey State Police reported the incident took place in East Windsor Township, Mercer County.
Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron of the New Jersey State Police’s Office of Public Information reported that Steven Bradshaw was a passenger in a Toyota car when a metal object impacted the vehicle, first hitting the front hood and then the windshield, causing fatal injuries to Bradshaw. There were no reported injuries to the driver of the vehicle.
The accident happened at around 1:22 p.m., with New Jersey State Troopers arriving at the scene on the northbound lanes of the Turnpike. The investigation into the accident is active, with officials seeking to identify the source and nature of the metal object.
The incident is noted for its unusual circumstances, with such accidents involving flying debris being uncommon on New Jersey’s roadways. The ongoing investigation focuses on understanding how the metal object came into contact with the vehicle Bradshaw occupied.

Bradshaw’s obituary describes him as the Managed Care Coordinator at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield based in New Jersey. He found joy in traveling and had journeyed to Ireland, Japan, Paris, and the Netherlands. He loved gaming, arts, and cooking. A fervent fan of the Irish Rugby team, he also possessed dual citizenship in Ireland and the US.
Bradshaw is survived by his mother, Phyllis Troncone, father, Philip Bradshaw, and sisters, Candyce Bradshaw, and Kayla Bradshaw, along with his twin sister, Kelly Burns.
