The family of “Sister Wives” stars Janelle and Kody Brown, based in Flagstaff, Arizona, is mourning the loss of their son, Robert Garrison Brown, who passed away at age 25.
Garrison, as he was fondly known, died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, a tragic event for the family who are familiar to many through their public persona.
The Flagstaff Police Department confirmed the unfortunate incident, responding to a distress call at Garrison’s home on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Officers discovered Garrison’s body after being alerted by his brother, Gabriel.
The unexpected death has deeply affected not only Garrison’s family but also the wider community and followers of the TLC reality show “Sister Wives,” which has been documenting the polygamous Brown family since 2010.
The show, “Sister Wives“, revolves around the life of 55-year-old Kody, his wife Robyn Sullivan, and his ex-wives Janelle Brown, Meri Barber, and Christine Allred. It also features their large family of 18 children and six grandchildren. Janelle separated from Kody in 2023, ending a 29-year “spiritual marriage.”
Garrison first appeared on the reality series in 2010, which offered viewers a glimpse into the daily life of the large family.
Originally based in Lehi, Utah, the popular TLC show moved to Las Vegas in 2011 and later to Flagstaff in 2018. Throughout the show’s run, Garrison’s life, including his aspirations and struggles, was shared with a global audience that grew to be deeply invested in him.
Away from the reality show, Garrison’s life was marked by achievements and personal battles. His service in the National Guard showcased his dedication, while his entrepreneurial ventures, like starting an online clothing store, demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit. Garrison also grappled with challenges, including a strained relationship with his father, Kody, especially in recent years over disagreements on issues such as the family’s management of COVID-19 protocols.
In a recent social media update, Garrison posted a picture of his newly adopted cat, “Ms. Buttons.” He revealed that he saved the nine-year-old feline from euthanasia, humorously attributing this to his “savior complex” and adding the hashtag “#crazycatlady.”
TLC, the network responsible for “Sister Wives,” has expressed its heartfelt condolences to the Browns, a sentiment shared by numerous fans and viewers who have followed the family’s journey over the years.
