Country Music Singer Dies in Crash

Country music singer Ivana Pino Arellano, commonly referred to as “La Rancherita de Chanco,” was killed in a vehicular accident on June 15, 2024, one day after her 32nd birthday. The crash happened along the M-80 road near Pelluhe, located in the Maule Region of central Chile.

Arellano, a mother to four children, was behind the wheel when she reportedly lost control of her car due to wet road conditions, colliding with a concrete barrier. The impact caused the car to overturn, leading to her death at the accident site. The passenger in the car sustained severe injuries and was transported to the Cauquenes hospital.

The Municipality of Chanco, where Arellano had a considerable fan base, issued a statement on social media recognizing her lasting influence. They referred to her as an “unforgettable figure whose charisma will resonate eternally in our lives,” further adding, “To us, the name ‘Ivana’ will always symbolize pure happiness and joy. Thank you, Ivana, for bringing us days of light and harmony. Your departure leaves an unfillable void, but your legacy will live on, reminding us of the beauty of your spirit and the generosity of your heart.”

Born in Chile, Arellano was renowned for her vocal abilities and dynamic stage presence. She was known for performing traditional Mexican music, “ranchera,” at festivals and events. Her shows were always anticipated and attracted large audiences who admired her singing talent and magnetic personality.

Reports from local media show that Arellano’s car was severely damaged, with images depicting it overturned at the roadside. The local police are currently investigating to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.

Arellano was also recognized by the local council for her contributions to the community, underscoring her commitment to public service. Her dedication to her family was also noted: “Her husband and children were the foundation of her life, motivating her every effort and sacrifice.”
