Lindsay and Nick Jordan, a married couple from Sparks, Nevada, were found dead in their hotel room in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on July 14, 2024. They had traveled with work friends to celebrate Lindsay’s 46th birthday, creating a mystery that has left their family searching for answers.

Their son, Deven Simms, has been tirelessly reviewing and translating police records in an attempt to uncover the truth behind his parents’ deaths. Mexican authorities have suggested that drugs caused the deaths, but Deven has found numerous discrepancies in the reports regarding the types and quantities of drugs allegedly involved.

“I know now we will never know,” Deven told the Reno Gazette Journal. He emphasized that his father did not drink, making it hard to believe that his parents could have died from a drug overdose. “They were there with work friends, too,” he added. “They weren’t going to go and do that.”

Deven, 21, Haley, 19,  and Sammy, 12, the children of the couple, are finding it difficult to deal with their parents’ deaths. Deven described the painful experience of informing his younger sister, Sammy, who had just returned from a Disneyland trip with their grandmother. He mentioned they conveyed the news as directly as possible, wanting to ensure she immediately understood that their parents were gone.

The Jordans’ last days appeared joyous. In her final Facebook post on July 12, Lindsay shared photos overlooking the pool and ocean from their room, captioning them, “Not too bad from our room for our long weekend.” The couple was last seen smiling and enjoying lunch at the resort in a photo taken by a friend.

On the morning of July 14, the couple’s friends went to their room after they failed to show up early for a planned discussion. They were ushered away by police and hotel staff upon discovering the couple’s bodies. The friends then contacted Deven to inform him of the news.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to support the Jordans’ three children, raising over $88,000. The fundraiser aims to ease the financial burden and help provide stability for the children during this incredibly difficult time. Contributions have already covered funeral expenses, with additional funds helping to support Sammy and continue her wrestling career.

Nevada Elite Wrestling, where Nick and Lindsay Jordan were dedicated supporters, shared their condolences on Facebook. They highlighted the couple’s vibrant personalities and generosity, noting how their presence lit up any room. The organization emphasized the Jordans’ unwavering support for the club, consistently contributing their time, skills, and resources.

Despite the Mexican authorities’ ruling that the deaths were not suspicious, the lack of clarity and conflicting information in the reports have left the family in a state of uncertainty and grief. The couple’s bodies have been embalmed and are expected to be flown back to Reno for the funeral.
