A 25-year-old fitness influencer and mother disappeared after visiting a Walmart in Cornelia, Georgia on October 22, 2024, leading to the arrest of a 24-year-old suspect on kidnapping and murder charges.
Minelys Zoe Rodriguez-Ramirez, known to her 35,000 TikTok followers as “Mimi,” was reported missing on October 23 after she went to the local Walmart to sell her photograph to a fan. Her remains were discovered on Tuesday, October 29, in a wooded area near the store.
Around 9:30 p.m. that evening—the same time Rodriguez-Ramirez, a mother of a nine-year-old, was last seen at the Walmart—a strange text was sent from her phone to her fiancé, Julio Tovor, saying she was waiting for “the brother to pick him up,” a phrasing he found uncharacteristic for her.
When Rodriguez-Ramirez did not return home, Tovor and her family reported her missing, prompting a swift search effort. On October 25, the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office issued news bulletins and alerts about her disappearance and requested assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
Authorities arrested Angel DeJesus Rivera-Sanches, 24, of Cornelia, Georgia, initially charging him with kidnapping. Murder charges followed after Rodriguez-Ramirez’s body was found. Law enforcement identified her remains through distinctive tattoos and clothing.
Witnesses reported seeing “a gold-colored minivan and a dark SUV circling the TikToker in the Walmart parking lot,” according to police statements. Rodriguez-Ramirez’s vehicle was discovered approximately five miles from the location where her body was found.
Rodriguez-Ramirez shared her fitness journey on social media, including “discussing her time in prison at a young age” and her path to personal transformation.
According to her family, the victim’s nine-year-old daughter resides with her father in Puerto Rico. On her TikTok account, she shared about becoming a mother at 15 and her struggle for custody. Tovor expressed that Rodriguez-Ramirez deeply cherished her daughter.
The investigation remains active, with authorities gathering evidence from both vehicles and the surrounding area. The case will be transferred to the Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution. The relationship between Rodriguez-Ramirez and the suspect, if any, remains unclear.
Rodriguez-Ramirez’s family has posted a GoFundMe page to raise money to transport her remains to Puerto Rico for a Christian burial. The fundraising effort has generated over $12,500.
The autopsy results are pending and will determine whether additional charges will be filed against Rivera-Sanches.
