A Polish woman, aged 26, tragically lost her life during her honeymoon in Miami Beach, Florida, as a result of contact with psychoactive substances. The investigation into her death has concluded that she was not a victim of robbery, as initially suspected.
Aleksandra Leczycka and her husband Dawid Leczycki were discovered unconscious on a Miami street in August 2022, just 23 days following their wedding. Dawid regained consciousness, but unfortunately, Aleksandra’s condition was irreversible.
After a two-year investigation, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Siedlce, Poland, on October 23, 2024 released its findings. District Prosecutor Krystyna Golabek stated, “By a decision dated 23rd October 2024, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Siedlce discontinued the investigation into the case of Aleksandra L., whose death occurred on 29th August 2022, in Miami Beach, USA.”
Originally, it was believed that the newlyweds were the victims of a robbery due to their lack of cash and jewelry. However, after extensive investigation involving American authorities and expert study in both computer science and toxicology, a new narrative surfaced.
The investigation concluded that both Aleksandra and Dawid had willingly ingested psychoactive substances. The cause of Aleksandra’s death is believed to have been a severe allergic reaction or an overdose from these substances. Although investigators could not wholly exclude the possibility of involuntary drugging, no substantiating evidence was found.
Just hours before the tragic event, Aleksandra had shared images on social media of herself enjoying a day at a Miami beach. The couple had wed on August 6, 2022, and had chosen Miami as their honeymoon destination.
Prosecutor Golabek confirmed that the investigation was meticulously conducted, involving requests for legal assistance from American authorities and the acquisition of expert opinions in several fields. The findings ultimately contradicted the initial assumption of robbery being a factor in the case.
Since the incident, Dawid Leczycki has refrained from making any public statements regarding his wife’s untimely death.
The conclusion of this investigation comes after two years of thorough examination of evidence from both Poland and Miami Beach. This included materials supplied by American investigators and expert analysis of digital and toxicological evidence.
