On January 25, investigators on the case of murdered Microsoft executive Jared Bridegan said they arrested a man they believe had a connection to Bridegan’s ex-wife Shanna Gardner-Fernandez, and her husband, Mario Fernandez.
It’s been almost a year since Bridegan, a father of four children, was shot dead in front of his then two-year-old daughter. He was shot near the home of his ex-wife, which she shared with her second husband Mario Fernandez.
Kirsten Bridegan, Jared Bridegan’s wife at the time of the slaying, had two children with her deceased husband. She said she was shocked to hear that the ex-wife, Shanna Gardner-Fernandez, had moved her twins from Florida to Washington State. Not only had the twins lost their father, but they were losing their half-siblings and their life in Florida as well.
Jared Bridegan and his ex, Gardner-Fernandez, shared custody of the twins, but since his murder, their mother Shanna had cut off ties with Bridegan’s new wife and her kids, and all efforts to reach out to Gardner-Fernandez had been ignored.
Meanwhile, Gardner-Fernandez and her husband Mario were being investigated as suspects in Jared’s murder.
Bridegan and Gardner-Fernandez divorced in 2016. They fought over custody and finances of the twins until his murder in February 2022.
Bridegan was murdered after he dropped off the twins at Gardner-Fernandez’s Florida home. On his way home, he exited his car to remove a tire blocking the road. Someone shot him several times as his daughter watched from the back of the car.
Investigators believe the tire was placed in the road in order to ambush Bridegan.
On Wednesday, January 25, the Jackson Beach Police Department and the Office of the State Attorney held a news conference. They said they had arrested a man for the murder of Jared Bridegan.
The arrested man, Henry Tenon, 61, had rented a house that was owned by Mario Fernandez. He also worked for Fernandez in the past. Tenon has a history of burglary and battery. Police believe that he did not act alone. He was arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit murder, accessory after the fact, child abuse, and second-degree murder.
Gardner-Fernandez and her new husband have denied any involvement in the murder of Bridegan.
