Linda Gregory, a revered 69-year-old sports photographer, met an untimely death on Friday, September 8. Her demise followed a mishap on September 4, during a junior varsity football match where she was unintentionally knocked down by players.

The incident occurred in a game featuring Wichita Northwest High School versus Bishop Carroll High. Mel Gregory, Linda’s life partner, shared the heartbreaking news with the online community via a Facebook update.

Wichita Northwest High School’s spokesperson emphasized Linda Gregory’s significant contributions over the years, recognizing her consistent and dedicated service as the school’s photographer.

While capturing moments of the match, players mistakenly ventured off the playing boundaries, inadvertently colliding with Gregory, as detailed by the team’s coach, Steve Martin. She fell and hit her on the concrete, sustaining a concussion.

Following this unfortunate event, immediate medical attention was sought, and the victim was admitted to a local health facility. Her condition regrettably deteriorated in the subsequent days. Mel Gregory, who shared the passion of photography with Linda, consistently updated well-wishers on her health via Facebook, including the troubling news of her being shifted to intensive care due to cerebral bleeding.

Amid this trying time, Linda Gregory’s near and dear ones rallied around her. Her passing was solemnly announced on Friday. Wichita Northwest High School commemorated her legacy and dedication during their evening football game.
