A family of four was discovered dead in their home on November 19, 2023 in Lorain, Ohio, in a case being investigated as a murder-suicide.
The victims were Tyler Young, 29; Skylar Young, 24; their son Bandin Young, four months old; and Angel Isaac, Skylar’s nine-year-old daughter.
Police were alerted to the situation at their East 9th Street apartment around 10 a.m. due to reports of loose dogs in the area.
On arrival, they found Tyler Young with a gunshot wound to his head and a 9mm pistol nearby, suggesting he took his own life after killing his family.
Lieutenant Jacob Morris from the Lorain Police Department indicated that the evidence points to Tyler Young as the perpetrator in a triple murder-suicide.
Back in May, Skylar Young had accused Tyler of physical abuse while she was pregnant, leading to his arrest. She later withdrew these allegations, and Tyler was not indicted.
Tyler’s mental health issues, including a diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia, were also mentioned by his aunt, Lisa Costello, who stated he had been uncooperative with treatment.
Police also discovered two additional guns in the residence, besides the 9mm pistol used in the killings.
