The bus, operated by Philadelphia-based Just Becuz Entertainment Party Bus Service, was carrying 24 people when it lost control and veered off the road into a guardrail around 6:00 a.m. The origination and destination of the bus remain unknown. The Maryland State Police Crash Team is still investigating the cause of the accident.

“Our deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of the person who lost their life,” said a spokesperson for the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, which confirmed the fatality.

Injured passengers were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Several ambulances and an off-duty DC Fire and EMS paramedic also provided aid at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains unknown. “The bus driver…lost control for unknown reasons,” a Maryland State Police press release stated. Investigators from the Maryland State Police Crash Team, the Maryland Transportation Authority Police, and the Harford County Sheriff’s Office are working to determine what caused the bus to veer off the road.

The northbound lanes of I-95 were closed for several hours following the crash, causing delays for motorists in the area. The lanes were reopened shortly after 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.
