Beloved Star Dead at Just 34

Cass Lacelle, who appeared on Freeform’s “Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise,” died February 11, 2026, after battling ovarian cancer. She was 34 years old.

Her death was announced on Instagram by loved ones who confirmed she had passed following her fight against the disease.

Lacelle was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer in May 2025. The diagnosis led to emergency surgery to remove a tumor, followed by three rounds of chemotherapy. By the end of summer 2025, she had completed the initial chemotherapy treatments.

However, the cancer returned aggressively. On January 4, 2026, Lacelle shared an update with her followers, revealing the news about her condition. “My cancer is back and this time around is aggressive; it has metastasized to my liver, stomach, abdominal lining, and omentum,” she said in the post.

The specific diagnosis was mucinous adenocarcinoma, a rare type of cancer.

Lacelle’s health had deteriorated significantly in the months before her death. She experienced no pain-free day since mid-November 2025, a reality she shared openly with her social media followers. She entered the hospital on December 6, 2025, and remained there for what would be the final months of her life.

Throughout her illness, Lacelle maintained an active presence on social media, sharing updates about her condition. Her willingness to document her journey helped raise awareness about ovarian cancer while allowing her supporters to follow her progress and offer encouragement.

The announcement of her death, posted to her Instagram account, was signed by Bianca Mora, Meg Chandler, Ella and Kylie Nicholls. These individuals had been part of her support system during her illness.

“Cass leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured,” the statement read, capturing the impact she had made in her 34 years.

Lacelle gained public recognition through her appearance on “Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise,” which aired on Freeform in 2024. The series consisted of 10 episodes and followed the lives of residents navigating relationships and careers on the Caribbean island.

The show, produced by Electric Media Group, showcased life on Grand Cayman, one of the three Cayman Islands. The series featured several cast members, including Chelsea Flynn, Aaron Bernardino, Julian Foster, Elizabeth Chambers and Selita Ebanks. Chambers is known as the ex-wife of Armie Hammer.

The show was filmed in Vancouver and on the Cayman Islands.

Following the announcement of Lacelle’s death, her former castmates expressed their grief publicly. Foster wrote a tribute remembering his friend, while Flynn and Bernardino also shared messages honoring her memory. The outpouring of support reflected the connections she had formed during her time on the show and throughout her life.

Her relatively short life left what those close to her described as an immeasurable legacy, touching many people across different communities.

Throughout her hospitalization beginning in December 2025, Lacelle faced the effects of both her disease and its treatment.

The memorial post concluded with a personal message to Lacelle, reflecting the admiration those close to her felt for her courage. The statement referenced her as “Fireheart,” suggesting a fierce spirit and passionate approach to life.

The announcement of her death came five days after she passed, giving her loved ones time to process the loss before sharing the news publicly. The decision to post the announcement on her own Instagram account allowed those who had followed her journey to learn of her passing in a space where she had shared so much of her life and struggle.

The reality television community, particularly those connected to Freeform’s programming, felt the impact of her loss. While “Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise” represented one chapter in her life, Lacelle’s openness about her cancer battle in her final months created another form of legacy, one that highlighted both the challenges of fighting the disease and the importance of support systems during such difficult times.

The loss leaves behind friends, family and a community of supporters who followed her journey from her days on reality television through her final battle with cancer. The impact she made, according to those who knew her, extended far beyond her television appearance, touching lives through personal connections and her willingness to share her most vulnerable moments.
