Lady Gaga just revealed she’s getting married “soon” to fiancé Michael Polansky, sharing the exciting update in an unexpected way that has fans buzzing about the long-awaited nuptials.
The 39-year-old pop superstar called into Bruno Mars’ iHeartRadio livestream “Romantic Radio” on Friday, March 6, asking the singer to dedicate a special song to her and Polansky as they prepare to tie the knot. Mars, 40, immediately recognized his friend’s voice and selected “Risk It All,” the opening track from his February 2026 album “The Romantic,” for the couple’s potential first dance.
“If you’re looking for a song to dedicate to your husband, I would say, off this new album of mine, I would go with ‘Risk It All,’ track one,” Mars said. “So I want to dedicate this one to Lady Gaga and her fiancé. Michael, this is for you too.”
The wedding announcement comes nearly two years after Gaga confirmed her engagement to Polansky, a tech entrepreneur and Harvard University graduate, in July 2024. She revealed the news in a particularly memorable way at the Paris Olympics, introducing him as her “fiancé” while chatting with French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.
The couple first connected in December 2019 at Sean Parker’s 40th birthday party in Los Angeles. They were photographed kissing at a New Year’s Eve party in Las Vegas and went public with their relationship shortly after the 2020 Super Bowl in Miami. They spent COVID-19 quarantine together at Gaga’s Malibu home, where their bond deepened.
Polansky proposed to the Grammy winner during a rock climb on April Fools’ Day 2024. But contrary to what one might expect, he didn’t pop the question at the summit. He had the ring safely stored in his backpack and waited until they reached the bottom for safety reasons before asking her to marry him. In quintessentially Polansky fashion, the entrepreneur asked permission before asking the big question.
The engagement inspired one of the most personal songs on Gaga’s March 2025 album “MAYHEM”—a project on which Polansky served as co-executive producer and co-writer for several tracks. The song “Blade of Grass” emerged from an intimate backyard conversation about the proposal, with Gaga telling the BBC: “A long time ago, we were in the backyard, and he asked me, ‘If I ever proposed to you, like, how do I do that?’ And I just said, ‘Just get a blade of grass from the backyard and wrap it around my finger.'”
As for the wedding plans themselves, Gaga has hinted at keeping things relatively intimate, though she admits anything could happen. She’s previously joked about going to the courthouse for Chinese food, but acknowledged it could also become “a circus with unicorns.”
In November 2025, Polansky opened up about their timeline during a Rolling Stone interview, revealing that they discuss marriage “all the time” and want an intimate ceremony rather than a grand spectacle. The couple’s Mayhem Ball tour is scheduled to wrap up at Madison Square Garden in April 2026.
The couple’s collaborative partnership extends beyond music. Gaga has consistently praised Polansky as her best friend and biggest supporter, crediting him with seeing her for who she truly is beneath the pop star persona. She won Artist of the Year at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards and dedicated the honor to “my partner in all things, Michael.”
During her October 2025 appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, also revealed what she considers her next big role: motherhood. When asked about future projects, she answered frankly: “What I really want is to be a mom. That’s my next starring role, I hope.”
Wedding plans and prenup negotiations were reportedly underway by August 2024, according to multiple reports at the time. Now, with Gaga’s latest confirmation that the wedding will happen “soon,” fans are eagerly waiting to see whether the ceremony will be a simple courthouse affair with takeout or the unicorn-filled spectacle she joked about.
One thing seems certain: whether they choose Bruno Mars’ “Risk It All” or Gaga’s own “Blade of Grass,” the soundtrack to their big day will be filled with meaning.
