Linda Stevenson, 64, was found dead in the living room of her Oak Hill, Delaware, home late Sunday after police responded to a domestic dispute call, authorities said.
Officers arrived late Sunday on December 28, 2025, and discovered Stevenson unresponsive. Despite life-saving measures attempted at the scene, she was pronounced dead, according to the New Castle County Police Department.
Linda Stevenson was married to Bill Stevenson, 77, the former husband of former First Lady Jill Biden. Bill Stevenson called 911, and audio from the emergency call mentioned cardiac arrest.
No charges have been filed in connection with Linda Stevenson’s death. The Criminal Investigations Unit has taken over the case as a death investigation remains ongoing.

Christina Vettori, 45, Linda’s daughter, told the Daily Mail that the case was a murder investigation. “It’s still a murder investigation,” Vettori said. “I would not like to talk at this time.”
Police denied the claim that the investigation was being treated as a murder case.
“Detectives from the Division’s Criminal Investigations Unit were notified and responded to the scene to assume the investigation,” police said in a news release.
