On January 25, 2026, Mo Su-jin, a vocalist for the South Korean band Acoustic Collabo, died at the young age of 27, according to a statement released by her management agency, Panic Button, on January 28, 2026.
The agency chose not to reveal the cause of Mo’s death. They expressed the grief of her family, stating, “Mo Su-jin, the vocalist of Acoustic Collabo, passed away on the 25th. Her bereaved family is in deep sorrow over this sudden and heartbreaking news.”
Respecting the family’s wishes, the public was asked to refrain from speculation and rumors concerning the cause of death. Her funeral was a private affair, attended only by close relatives and friends. The burial ceremony was held at Eden Memorial Park in Namyangju at 10:30 a.m. on January 28, 2026.
Born in 1999, Mo initially trained as an idol before becoming the third vocalist for Acoustic Collabo. Alongside Kim Seung-jae, she served as the band’s lead vocalist.
The band Acoustic Collabo showcased Mo’s talent in their third full-length album, “Good to Be with You.” The band lineup included vocalists Ahn Da Eun, Kim Kyu Nyeon, and Mo Su-jin.
In 2022, the band was embroiled in a lawsuit with their former management company. The band eventually won the case in its entirety during the second trial on November 27, 2025, following a partial resolution in 2024.
After the legal victory in 2025, the group signed an exclusive contract with Panic Button. Concurrent to her work with Acoustic Collabo, Mo Su-jin also embarked on a solo career and launched the single “Your Universe” in June 2025.
In the wake of Mo’s death, Panic Button again underscored the family’s request for privacy, asking that specific details, including the cause of death, remain undisclosed.
The official statement from Panic Button was widely reported in local newspapers, including ONSEN and Korea JoongAng Daily, and quickly disseminated through social media and entertainment industry channels.
The third full-length album of the group, “Good to Be with You,” highlighted Mo’s vocal skills developed during her training and early career. Her partnership with Kim Seung-jae as the lead vocalists was instrumental to Acoustic Collabo’s signature sound.
Mo’s journey to Acoustic Collabo was unique. While she struggled with dance as an idol trainee, she excelled in vocals. Following her vocal teacher’s advice, she shifted her focus to singing and found Acoustic Collabo’s music.
Her path to becoming the band’s third-generation vocalist began when she posted a cover of “It’s Strange, With You,” an original soundtrack by The Ade for the drama “Discovery of Love,” on social media. Unbeknownst to her, the band was holding auditions and company officials spotted her video. She outperformed nearly 1,600 other applicants during the auditions.
Mo also ventured into a solo career under the stage name “Cloudy,” releasing tracks such as “Flight,” “Fade Away,” “Be My Love,” and “Your Universe.”
In the aftermath of her death, her Instagram account and YouTube videos were momentarily made private before being reinstated on January 29. The social media account for a cat believed to have been her pet was also briefly made private.
