Beloved Television Star Dead at Just 34

Cass Lacelle, who appeared on Freeform’s “Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise,” died on Feb. 11, 2026, following her battle with ovarian cancer. She was 34.

Her family and friends announced her passing on Instagram, noting she had succumbed to the illness.

Lacelle was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer in May 2025, leading to an emergency operation to remove a tumor, followed by three rounds of chemotherapy. She completed that first phase of treatment by late summer 2025.

The disease eventually returned in a more serious form. On Jan. 4, 2026, she informed followers of the recurrence, writing, “My cancer is back and this time around is aggressive; it has metastasized to my liver, stomach, abdominal lining, and omentum.”

Her formal diagnosis was mucinous adenocarcinoma, a rare variant of cancer.

In the months before her death, Lacelle’s health declined sharply. She told her followers she had not experienced a pain-free day since mid-November 2025. She was hospitalized on Dec. 6, 2025, and remained there until she passed away.

The Instagram announcement of her death was signed by Bianca Mora, Meg Chandler, Ella, and Kylie Nicholls—members of her support team throughout her illness.

“Cass leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured,” the announcement read, underscoring the significant impact she had on those close to her.

Lacelle gained public attention through her appearance on “Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise,” which aired on Freeform in 2024. The 10-episode program followed locals as they navigated career and relationship challenges on the island.

The series depicted life on Grand Cayman, the biggest of the Cayman Islands, and featured cast members such as Chelsea Flynn, Aaron Bernardo, Julian Foster, TV personality and entrepreneur Elizabeth Chambers, and model/producer Selita Ebanks. Chambers is also known as the ex-wife of actor Armie Hammer.

After news of her passing became public, former castmates expressed their grief. Foster posted a tribute, while Flynn and Bernardo shared emotional messages of their own, illustrating the meaningful bonds she formed both on and off the show.

The memorial message concluded with a heartfelt note to Lacelle, calling her “Fireheart,” a nickname that reflected her strength and passion.

Her passing was shared publicly five days after she died, giving her close circle time to mourn privately. Announcing it through her Instagram account allowed supporters who followed her journey to learn the news in the space where she had chronicled her experience.

The reality TV community—particularly those connected to Freeform—felt her loss deeply. While “Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise” represented only one chapter of her life, her openness about her cancer battle in her final months formed another enduring part of her legacy, highlighting both the challenges of the disease and the importance of strong support systems.

Her death leaves behind family, friends, and many supporters who followed her from her television debut through her final struggle with cancer. Those who knew her say she touched lives far beyond the screen through her honesty and willingness to share her most personal moments.
