Vanessa Trump Opens Up About Frightening Health Diagnosis

Vanessa Trump spent roughly six months so drained that even a Starbucks run left her exhausted before she learned what was behind it.

The first sign of what she called her “very invasive” breast cancer was “extreme fatigue,” Trump, 48, revealed in a Breast Cancer Awareness Month conversation with her daughter Kai Trump and Dr. Nicole Saphier posted Friday, Oct. 23, 2026. She was diagnosed in April and disclosed it on Instagram on May 20. Her most recent MRI came back clear.

“I am finally cancer-free,” she said in the video, posted by Kai, 19, who leaned over to hug her mother after the announcement.

The Starbucks Run That Wore Her Out

The exhaustion trailed her for about six months before the diagnosis, Trump said, flattening her during errands as ordinary as a coffee run. That, she noted, is exactly why fatigue is “hard to detect” — it registers as “a normal mom symptom,” and doctors have trouble pinpointing it in a patient raising children.

She has five of them with ex-husband Donald Trump Jr.

What the fatigue turned out to signal was invasive ductal carcinoma, a cancer that begins in the milk ducts and spreads into the surrounding breast tissue. Saphier, a radiologist and Fox News medical contributor who is President Donald Trump’s third nominee for surgeon general, said in the video, “When it comes to breast cancer, it’s not one size fits all.”

From Lumpectomy to a Clear MRI

Trump underwent a lumpectomy — surgery that removes a tumor along with a small rim of healthy breast tissue — followed by three courses of radiation. Her cancer was attributed to environmental factors, not genetic ones.

When she went public in May, she asked for privacy and said she was working closely with her medical team on a treatment plan. A month later the tone shifted from crisis to grind: she wrote in June that she had spent four weeks recovering from surgery and would soon begin the second stage of her treatment.

In July, Kai kept the update to two words, telling Page Six her mother was “doing good.” Three months later, mother and daughter were sitting down on camera to walk through the whole thing.

Trump promoted the interview in an Instagram post on Sunday, Oct. 25, describing the ordeal as long and challenging and thanking the people who surrounded her through it. She urged her followers to put their health first, book their screenings and take early detection seriously, writing that if her story pushed even one person to get checked, it was worth it. She pointed them to a link in her bio for donations to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, with the money going toward patient financial assistance for people who cannot afford their care. The full conversation was posted on YouTube.

Trump, a former model, was married to Donald Trump Jr. from 2005 to 2018. Besides Kai, they share Donald III, 17; Tristan Milos, 15; Spencer Frederick, 14; and Chloe, 12. She was spotted with golfer Tiger Woods at the Genesis Invitational in February 2025, sparking romance rumors; reports said the two had been dating since November 2024, and Woods confirmed the relationship publicly in March 2025.

The clear MRI does not end the monitoring. Trump said she will have scans three to four times a year for the next five to 10 years.

Her Instagram carousel ran two pictures of her with Kai — and one more, of Trump, Woods and her eldest daughter smiling in front of a bell and a colorful banner that read “Congratulations.”
