Fox Sports Journalist Passes Away Suddenly at 41

Australian sports journalist, Duncan McKenzie-McHarg, who was associated with Fox Sports, has tragically lost his life at the age of 41 following a fall from a building in Los Angeles, California. He was based in the city as a correspondent and presenter.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed McKenzie-McHarg’s death on December 17, 2025. The incident occurred at 820 Olive Street, also known as 825 South Hill, situated in downtown Los Angeles. His death was concluded as suicide caused by blunt traumatic injuries. McKenzie-McHarg fell onto the rooftop of a nearby building.

Five days after the incident, on December 22, 2025, McKenzie-McHarg’s family shared their grief over the abrupt loss of their loved one.

“”We share the passing of Duncan with profound sadness — a deeply loved son, a devoted father to Harrison, and a brother to his three siblings. His death has left our family heartbroken and at a loss,”” the family conveyed.

In their statement, the family emphasized McKenzie-McHarg’s remarkable character and his uplifting influence on those he met. “”Duncan was truly extraordinary — a man whose positivity, care, and humor touched everyone he met. He was the heart of many lives, bringing warmth, laughter, and joy wherever he went. Our Darling Ducky,”” the family further elaborated.

At the time of his death, McKenzie-McHarg was working as a presenter for Stan Sport in Los Angeles, a role he took on in August 2022. His primary responsibilities involved the coverage of Grand Slam tennis.

Throughout his career, McKenzie-McHarg had the chance to interview several leading tennis players, including Carlos Alcaraz, Aryna Sabalenka, Alex de Minaur, Todd Woodbridge, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic. His most recent assignment was the coverage of the 2025 US Open held in September.

In response to the tragic news, Stan’s spokesperson expressed condolences. “”We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Duncan McKenzie-McHarg. Duncan was a valued contributor to Stan Sport, and our thoughts are with his family, friends, and colleagues at this very difficult time,”” they stated.

McKenzie-McHarg, originally from Melbourne, pursued journalism at Monash University. He kicked off his media career in January 2010 as a reporter with Triple M, working alongside host Eddie McGuire for nearly three years. After Triple M, he worked as a presenter for Channel Seven and Channel Ten, primarily covering Grand Slam tennis events. Between 2017 and May 2022, he worked as the US correspondent for Fox Sports Australia and also held a directorial position at Global Play Media.

In a 2023 radio interview, McKenzie-McHarg described his work in Los Angeles as his “”dream job””. His ability to engage with high-profile athletes and his articulate insights and dedication to capturing the essence of major sporting events were highly appreciated.

The tragic news of his death has had a significant impact on both the Australian and American sports communities, with colleagues reminiscing fond memories and fans sharing their condolences on his Instagram page.

McKenzie-McHarg was a notable figure in tennis broadcasting, frequently seen at major tournaments. His work provided an Australian viewpoint to American sports coverage, while maintaining strong ties with his home country’s media scene.

The incident leading to his death in downtown Los Angeles is still under investigation. McKenzie-McHarg had been residing and working in Los Angeles for several years, covering major sports events for Australian viewers. He is survived by his son, Harrison, and his three siblings.
