The reality star had been hospitalized after suffering a series of cardiac arrests following flu complications. Her family revealed December 22, 2025, that she was in the ICU in critical but stable condition.
Lee competed on the 27th season of “Big Brother,” which aired from July to September 2025 on CBS. The event curator from Atlanta, Georgia, spent 59 days on the reality show before becoming the eighth housemate evicted. She finished in 10th place after her eviction in week eight.
Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Lee had overcome significant health challenges throughout her life. She was born with a hole in her heart and survived an ATV accident.
The family created a GoFundMe account to help cover medical expenses not covered by insurance. The fundraiser, which had a goal of $40,000, raised $32,500 as of its announcement. Contributions had reached $33,000.
“This sudden health crisis has left Mickey and her family facing enormous emotional and financial strain from mounting hospital bills to ongoing care and recovery costs,” the GoFundMe page stated.
Lee’s death prompted an outpouring of tributes from the “Big Brother” community. Julie Chen Moonves, who hosts the CBS reality series, interviewed Lee on the God 101 podcast, where Lee revealed that she was born with a hole in her heart and survived an ATV accident that should have killed her.
Fellow contestant Rachel Reilly also mourned Lee’s passing, commenting on the family’s Instagram announcement.
Lee had remained active in the “Big Brother” community following her time on the show. She attended CBS Atlanta Fest on September 16, 2025, where she appeared alongside other cast members from her season.
The family’s statement emphasized Lee’s impact both on and off screen. The family thanked fans for their prayers, love and support during what they described as an incredibly difficult time.
