President Donald Trump engaged in a marathon social media session on the evening of Dec. 1, 2025, posting more than 160 times on Truth Social between 7 p.m. and midnight Eastern Time. The 79-year-old president’s activity continued into the early morning hours of Dec. 2, when he declared at 5:48 a.m., “TRUTH SOCIAL IS THE BEST! There is nothing even close!!!”
Among the numerous posts, Trump reposted a message from an account identified as “@juliesnark1731” that claimed former President Barack Obama would face a military tribunal. The original post stated: “When the Director of National Intelligence tells the public, Obama committed TREASON and President Trump is your President, you can 100% know we will see his MILITARY TRIBUNAL.”
After Trump shared the post, the same @juliesnark1731 account celebrated on another platform, writing that the president reposting the Obama tribunal post should be serious confirmation that it is coming. The user added celebration and religious exclamations. This marks at least the second time Trump has amplified calls for Obama to face military tribunals, having previously shared similar content in May.
The posting spree included a wide range of content targeting various political figures. Trump attacked Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, calling him unpatriotic after Kelly and other Democratic lawmakers urged military members to refuse illegal orders. The president criticized Kelly and the group of politicians, saying they were wrong to openly encourage others to disobey the president of the United States.
Kelly was one of several Democrats targeted during the evening. Trump also directed attacks at California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Rep. Ilhan Omar, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Sen. Adam Schiff, former Attorney General Eric Holder, and former FBI Director James Comey. The posts characterized these individuals as threats to national security and accused them of various wrongdoings.
The president shared conspiracy theories throughout the night, including a video from far-right commentator Alex Jones featuring Patrick Byrne, founder of Overstock.com. Jones claimed that former first lady Michelle Obama had used President Joe Biden’s autopen to issue pardons. Trump also shared content suggesting Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard possessed documents related to Obama and intelligence assessments.
At times during the evening, Trump posted more than once per minute. Many posts appeared twice on his feed, with the second version including added commentary. The repetitive posting pattern created a cluttered appearance on his Truth Social profile, as the president rapidly reshared content from MAGA-friendly sources.
The posts also included content targeting Somali immigrants. Trump shared what appeared to be an AI-generated video depicting Elon Musk discussing the Somali community in Minnesota. Other posts specifically mentioned Omar, with one describing her as coming from a terrorist family. The immigration-focused content reflected the president’s ongoing emphasis on his administration’s deportation policies.
Not all content was political in nature. Trump shared a video complimenting first lady Melania Trump and reposted a clip featuring his cameo appearance in “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.” The Christmas-themed post proclaimed that the holiday was “officially GREAT again” and included footage from the 1992 film.
Rep. Jason Crow, one of the Democratic lawmakers who appeared in the video encouraging military members to uphold their constitutional duties, responded to Trump’s attacks. He emphasized his obligation to the Constitution rather than to Trump personally in his statement.
The marathon posting session represents a continuation of Trump’s prolific social media habits. During his first term in office, he posted thousands of times on Twitter, often using the platform to attack opponents and share unverified information. His current behavior on Truth Social, the platform he founded, follows similar patterns but occurs on a smaller network with less mainstream visibility than his previous Twitter presence.
Military tribunals for political opponents represent a departure from traditional democratic norms in the United States. Such proceedings are typically reserved for enemy combatants or military personnel facing charges under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The president’s amplification of calls for tribunals against former presidents and political rivals has raised concerns among constitutional scholars about the erosion of democratic institutions and the rule of law.
The late-night activity comes as questions continue to circulate about the president’s daily schedule and work habits. His ability to maintain such intense social media activity into the late evening hours stands in contrast to reports about his afternoon work schedule and energy levels during official duties. The posting session concluded shortly before midnight, only to resume before 6 a.m. the following morning.
