Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Share Heartwarming News

Weeks after their star-studded Madison Square Garden wedding drew both crowds and complaints across New York City, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are being celebrated for the quieter part of their celebration: the $26 million the couple funneled to charities in the days surrounding the ceremony. An organization that supports the families of first responders killed on the job publicly thanked the newlyweds July 24 for a $2 million gift.

Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, and Swift, the billionaire pop superstar, married July 3 at Madison Square Garden in a ceremony packed with famous guests. The couple reportedly covered some of the additional security costs the event required, and their donations were spread across at least 20 local and national organizations, according to Swift’s publicist.

A Gift for First Responders’ Families

The $2 million contribution went to Answer The Call, a New York-based nonprofit that provides financial support to the loved ones of fallen first responders. The group works with those who have lost police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical technicians who died while serving their communities. In an Instagram post July 24, the group offered its thanks and said the money would have a concrete impact on the people it serves.

“Taylor and Travis, thank you for your incredible generosity and for standing with the families of fallen New York City first responders,” the organization said. “Your gift will make a tangible difference in their lives.”

The group also shared personal messages from the families it has helped. Amanda Rivera lost her father in 2024 when he died while serving as a first responder. She described how the organization steadied her family in the aftermath. She recalled feeling isolated in her grief before Answer The Call connected her with others who understood the loss. Rivera, a self-described longtime Swift fan and a Giants supporter, said the couple’s decision to give meant a great deal to her.

Where the $26 Million Went

The full slate of recipients, announced ahead of the wedding, spans nine food banks, an animal-welfare group, seven educational programs and three children’s hospitals. The list runs from City Harvest and Food Bank For NYC to New York Cares, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Harvesters — The Community Food Network. National organizations including Feeding America, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library also received gifts.

Nine of the selected organizations are based in New York, among them Musical Mentors, a nonprofit that pairs music teachers with students in need. Other choices trace the couple’s roots. The Rhode Island Community Food Bank sits near Watch Hill, where Swift owns an estate, while Children’s Mercy Hospital is in Kansas City, Missouri, home of the Chiefs. Additional beneficiaries included The Store in Nashville, Tennessee; Helping Harvest in Reading, Pennsylvania; and hospital programs such as MSK Kids at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone.

Individual amounts were not disclosed in the announcement, though several recipients revealed their own. City Harvest confirmed a $1 million gift, with chief executive Jilly Stephens describing it as a love letter to New York and noting the demand at city food pantries is near record highs. The Rhode Island Community Food Bank also received $1 million; its chief executive, Melissa Cherney, described the contribution as unexpected and said it would help stock the pantries her organization supplies.

Country music legend Dolly Parton took to Instagram on the morning of July 2 to acknowledge a $2 million donation to her book-giveaway program. In a video, she thanked the pair and joked that she hoped to lay claim to their firstborn, predicting it would be “one special baby.”

A Pattern of Giving

The large gifts echo the couple’s earlier philanthropy. Swift gave millions to food banks in cities along her Eras Tour route, while Kelce has received recognition from the Chiefs for his success in team-organized charitable competitions and runs his own nonprofit. The two have been together since 2023, a relationship that has drawn intense global attention.

The wedding itself came together over two days at Madison Square Garden, with a smaller rehearsal dinner and a larger celebration in the arena. Afterward, the couple retreated to Montana for a few days before attending the wedding of former Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Now the honeymoon window is closing for at least one half of the couple. Kelce returns tomorrow for the start of Chiefs training camp July 28. The team is aiming to rebound following its first absence from the postseason in over ten years, and Kelce opted against retirement, signing a new three-year contract to return for another season.
